Choose a duct-cleaning provider by checking the business identity and reviewing a clear, property-specific scope. Pressure to decide immediately and unexplained additions make an estimate harder to evaluate.
Check who is doing the work
Confirm the company name and a working contact number. Ask who will attend and whether subcontractors are involved. If a credential or insurance policy is relevant to your project, ask for verifiable details. A logo on an advertisement is not a substitute for checking the claim.
Get the scope before the appointment
Request the systems and components covered, exclusions, access arrangements and price. Ask how a newly discovered issue will be presented and approved. Keep the original estimate so you can compare the work requested with the work invoiced.
Ask for an explanation of any finding
If the provider reports a problem, ask where it was found and what supports the proposed next step. A photograph should relate to your actual system. Avoid agreeing to an unfamiliar treatment without understanding its purpose, product and suitability for the material involved.
Use questions that lead to clear answers
The right conversation should help you understand the job, whether or not you decide to book. Ask the same questions of each provider and compare the responses.

- What is outside the quoted scope?
- How are extra charges authorized?
- What happens if an area cannot be accessed?
